Commercial construction in the Bay Area

Restaurant, retail, office and learning-center build-outs for owners, operators and property teams, with one accountable team from bid to closeout.

What we build

Mid- and high-end commercial spaces

We’ve been delivering mid- and high-end retail spaces to our clients for 25 years. Our clients include names such as Applebee’s, Zephyr Grill & Bar and Jon ‘Ric Salon and Day Spa.

  • Restaurant expansions and remodels, like the Zephyr Grill & Bar banquet room in Livermore
  • Retail and food-court kiosks built to franchise requirements, like Mrs. Fields Cookies at Valley Fair Mall
  • Demolition and build-out of new tenant spaces, like the Huntington Learning Center in Danville
  • Buildings prepared for a new tenant: flooring, paint and restroom remodels, like the San Leandro office building
  • Salon and day spa work, for clients such as Jon ‘Ric Salon and Day Spa

On every job

Clean, coordinated, code compliant

For commercial clients, we work the hours that best suit your business and keep the site clean throughout the project. Mark Wynn works closely with architects, engineers and city officials to keep your project moving.

We make sure your project is code compliant, every part of the build is done with quality craftsmanship, we keep you informed with daily communication on job scheduling, and we work to keep the job within the projected budget.

CWI is incorporated and maintains a Class B license, general liability, bond and workers’ compensation insurance. Our subcontractors are required to maintain the same standard.

How it works

From walk-through to turnover

  1. Walk the space

Send us the address and when you need the space open. We’ll walk it with you.

  2. Scope, schedule, bid

We price the work and build the schedule back from your opening or move-in date.

  3. Build

One point of contact runs the job, with daily updates on scheduling and a clean, safe site.

  4. Punch and turnover

We work through the punch list with you and close the job out.

City permit and inspection timing is set by the city, not the contractor. We plan the schedule around it.

Tenant improvements

Tenant improvement work in San Francisco has its own section: office build-outs, spec suites, retail and restaurants, salons, ADA upgrades and clean rooms, built around the lease date.

Planning a project?

Tell us what you need built and where. We’ll walk it and bid it.
